PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a triple electrode type piezoelectric vibrator equipped with a piezoelectric vibrator and a frequency variable element determining a frequency as a piezoelectric vibrator which actualizes an increase in the frequency variation quantity of VCXO, excellent frequency linearity, and a stable temperature characteristic. SOLUTION: On a piezoelectric substrate 1, both-side electrode pairs 2 and 3 which excite 0-order asymmetrical modes are arranged to constitute an electrode pair for frequency control which has at least one surface divided almost in the center. The both-side electrode pairs 2 and 3 are connected to the input and output of an inverting amplifier, and external reactance is connected between the divided electrodes of the electrode pair 4 for frequency control and varied to move the frequency of the VCXO.
