PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint allowing easy confirmation of insertion of a pipe to a prescribed position. SOLUTION: In this pipe joint, an elastic ring 14 whose diameter can be enlarged by partially forming a split 34 in the circumferential direction and a ring holder 12 keeping the elastic ring 14 in a diameter-enlarging state are installed inside a tube-like joint body 10. The elastic ring 14 has an internal diameter smaller than an external diameter of the pipe in a release state and is held in the holder 12 in a state that the internal diameter is larger than the external diameter of the pipe against elastic repulsion. The ring holder 12 is installed inside the joint body 10 such that the ring holder 12 is pressed by the tip of the pipe to advance when the pipe is inserted into the ring holder 12. The elastic ring 14 is installed inside the joint body 10 such that the elastic ring 14 cannot advance even if the ring holder 12 advances. Thereby, when the pipe is inserted to the prescribed position, the ring holder 12 is pressed by the tip of the pipe to advance, the elastic ring 14 is detached from the ring holder 12, the diameter of elastic ring 14 is reduced by its own elastic return force in an instant, and the elastic ring 14 strikes the outer face of the pipe to generate a sound or a shock. |
