PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic equipment, and a facsimile machine using it, which contributes to prevent a battery from discharge firing in a battery recycle by perfectly discharging the battery for memory back-up. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment comprises a back-up battery 33, a battery residual quantity detecting means (CPU 111 and a battery residual quantity detection program C- DTCT) which detects the battery residual quantity of the back-up battery 33 and a discharge means (switch circuit control part 113) for forcibly discharging the back-up battery. It has characteristics that the battery residual quantity detecting means detects the battery residual quantity which makes at least, the back-up impossible in substance and the discharge means carries out perfect back-up battery discharge when the battery residual quantity detecting means detects the battery residual quantity which makes the back-up impossible.
