PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly perform self-analysis of memory in an image compression/ extension device and reduce waiting time to an original functional start. SOLUTION: When CPU 12 analyzes memory 15 and the memory 15 does not pass to the diagnosis, error information is displayed on an LCD display part 11 to stop program execution. If the memory 15 passes to the diagnosis, programs in flash memory 14 is copied into the memory 15, so that the programs to be read and executed are moved from the flash memory 14 to the memory 15 with short access time.
