PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate having an embedding structure and a display device using the same and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: This method includes a process step for preparing a glass substrate having a main surface, a process step of forming grooves by using a wet etching method on the main surface of the glass substrate and a process step of forming the embedding structure having a surface approximately flush with the main surface by depositing a first material within the grooves, in which the process step of forming the grooves is executed by using an etchant containing a hydrofluoric acid, ammonium fluoride, hydrochloric acid or oxalic acid.
