PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet which is constituted of a completely new manufacturing process and in which excellent magnetic properties can be combined with excellent film characteristics. SOLUTION: When manufacturing the grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, a secondary recrystallization step and a forsterite film forming step are separated. Continuous annealing is carried out before and after batch annealing for the secondary recrystallization, respectively, and subsequently finish annealing for the forsterite film formation is applied.
