The invention concerns a method for determining at least an energetic property of a gas mixture which consists in: (1) measuring on said gas mixture n physical properties phi i at a temperature T and/or a physical property phi i at n different temperatures; (2) determining, from said physical properties, the composition of a gas with n+1 constituents equivalent to said mixture; (3) deducing from said composition of the equivalent gas the energetic properties of said gas mixture. The invention is useful for determining energetic properties.
