PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the surface cracking or surface bottom cracking of a cast piece even when a high Ni steel is continuously cast. SOLUTION: In continuously casting the Ni-containing steel, surface temperature of the cast piece in the bending process and the correcting process is maintained to be Ar3 point or higher to prevent precipitation of ferrite, and in a cooling process after the correction process, the cast piece is slowly cooled approximately uniformly at least in the temperature area from the Ar3 point to 600 deg.C. The surface temperature of the cast piece in the correction process is frequently controlled to be the Ar3 point + 170 deg.C or higher, and in the slow cooling after the correction process, the slow cooling is preferably carried out over the whole area of a temperature zone at which the ferrite is precipitated. The slow cooling speed at the time of the slow cooling is normally 100 deg.C/hr or below.
