PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate having an excellent hue with less amount of minute foreign matter even though a stainless steel is used as the material for a tank to dissolve and mix raw materials. SOLUTION: The method comprises transporting the aromatic dihydroxy compound and the diarylcarbonate which are vacuum-displaced using inert gas as the aromatic dihydroxy compound and diarylcarbonate into the tank for dissolving and mixing raw materials which is heated at 115 to 220 deg.C, adjusting the reaction rate in the tank for dissolving and mixing raw materials in a range of 5 to 95%, filtrating them by a filter with an absolute filtration accuracy of 1 μm or less which is made of a material comprising iron in the amount of 20% or more, and then transporting them for polymerization.
