The tiles for the lower edge of a sloping roof are made in two semi-cylindrical shapes: under-tiles (2) laid with their open concave side uppermost, and over-tiles (4) laid with their concave side downwards and covering the edges (2b, 2c) of adjacent under-tiles. The outer end of each under-tile is made with a section of transverse channel (8) which has an extension (10) to connect it with the channel section of the adjacent under-tile. The extension is made with two flat bottom surfaces (14, 16) connected by a sloping surface (18), a notch (24) to engage with an adjacent tile, and a raised edge (32) forming the inner side wall of the channel. Each over-tile has a notch (30) in its lower edge to fit over the raised edge of an under-tile.
