PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and compact seat slide device which can freely move a seat by one action not only in the longitudinal direction but also in the lateral direction and also in the diagonal direction. SOLUTION: Two sets of roller groups 16, 26 piled in a plurality of steps are arranged between a car body and a seat. A holder 14, 24 holds each roller 16a or 26a, its rolling axial center is arranged in parallel in each roller group 16 or 26, in the other hand the rolling axial center of first/second roller groups 16 and 26 is made orthogonal. An intermediate member 30 is arranged between the two roller groups 16 and 26, the rollers 16a and 26a are rolled on both end surfaces of the intermediate member 30.
