PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-power and small size ceramic heater with which stable ignition with little variation of resistance or ignition detection is enabled by restraining the temperature increase of an electrode metal fitting even after a long time use. SOLUTION: The ceramic heater has a ceramic body in which an exothermic resistive element is buried bonded with a supporting metal fitting and an electrode metal fitting. It is so designed that the temperature of the supporting metal fitting and the electrode section is lowered by arranging a clearance gap between the ceramic body and the supporting metal fitting.
