PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shoe clearance automatic adjusting device for a wedge brake quickly providing a prescribed effect, favorably retaining an operation feeling, preventing dragging of a lining, stabilizing the shoe clearance, reducing the number of components, and being advantageous in the cost by setting a shoe clearance small. SOLUTION: A guide pin 50 sensing the shoe clearance and transmitting it to the intermediate part of an adjustment lever 150 is erected from a tappet 30 and slidably fitted into a slit 15 parallel to a cylinder axis of a cylinder body 11. One end part of the adjustment lever 60 is engaged with an adjustment wheel 36 and the other end part abuts on a pivot pin 52 on the cylinder body 11 with its movement restricted in the retreating direction of the tappet 30. An adjust spring 53 is so provided as to apply a retreating-directional rotating force of the tappet 30 to the intermediate part of the adjust lever 60 with the pivot pin 52 set to the fulcrum.
