The relay has a magnetic circuit comprising a yoke (2) and a magnetic armature (3). A coil former (5) of a release coil (4) is carried on a magnetic limb (2a) of the yoke. The magnetic armature (3) is acted upon by a release force (FF) produced by a pressure spring (8), against the magnetic force (FM) of a permanent magnet. An Independent claim is also included for a protective circuit breaker.
