PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generating system, an image generating method, and an information storage medium capable of efficiently using a memory at mapping texture information. SOLUTION: At executing mapping processing by selecting at least one texture cell from a plurality of texture cells having texture information including color information andαinformation stored in a prescribed storage area, information for picture generation other than translucence information is included in theαinformation. This image generating system is provided with an image generation information extracting part 312 for extracting the information for image generation other than the translucence information from theαinformation based on anαconversion parameter. Thus, the mapping processing is executed based on the extracted information for image generation.
