The brush-holder has a plate (26) carrying radial guides (36,38,40,42) for the brushes (44). A central disk (35) is placed between the brushes to hold them in the retracted position so when the machine is assembled the brushes do not foul the commutator. The disk is displaced when the brush-holder is fitted over the commutator.
