PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance apparatus by which relative physical quantities comparable between different specimens and absolute quantities of a compound, etc., on each specimen can be obtained and a method for processing a signal in the magnetic resonance apparatus. SOLUTION: Area of the peak of water is obtained from the spectrum of water obtained as a result of reconstitution of water<1> H signals obtained from a plurality of receiving RF coil 15. By using a value obtained by dividing the area of the peak of water of each channel by square sum of the area of the peak of water of each channel is used as a weighed function to calculate a weighed spectrum. As this result, it is possible to calculate the weighed function only by the water<1> H signals from the receiving coils and to provide a quantitative addition spectrum.
