PURPOSE: A controller for dc-dc converter is provided to transfer signals indicating an over voltage and an under voltage of the main storage battery to the control side of the DC/DC converter. CONSTITUTION: A gate drive circuit(5) for the DC/DC converter includes a current detector, a comparator, a latch circuit, a switching device, and a gate driver. A voltage monitor(7) for monitoring the state of the voltage of the main storage battery(2) includes an under voltage detecting section and an over voltage detecting section. The voltage monitor(7) outputs an output at a low level when the voltage is within a proper range to make a switching device. The voltage monitor(7) outputs an output at a high level when the voltage is outside the proper range, that is when the voltage is an over voltage or an under voltage, to short-circuit the switching device.
