[Also in Division F2] An interstage flow control valve in a steam turbine comprises a fixed annular member 2 having ports 3 co-operating with ports 7 in an annular member 5 which can be moved circumferentially by a servomotor 12. The moveable member 5 has a bush 13 which is supported on a flange 9 of a diaphragm 10 itself supported by the turbine casing 1. The member 5 forms a partition preventing steam flowing radially inwards through the ports 3, 7 from impinging on the turbine shaft 6. Circumferentially and axially extending seals (14,16 respectively), Figs.4, 5 (not shown), prevent steam leakage through the gaps between the members 2, 5. In a modification. Fig. 6 (not shown), the control valve is applied to a divided flow type turbine, the rotatable member (22) being supported at both sides on diaphragm flanges (24).
