PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a memory integrated type display element capable of lighting optical modulation elements with the same luminous level even when variation is generated in characteristics of elements constituting pixels owning to manufacture variation or the like. SOLUTION: In each pixel 4 of a display element, a memory circuit 11 is constituted by connecting complimentary type inverters 11a, 11b in a loop state and stores whether to light an organic light emitting diode 12 or not in accordance with a data potential Vd which is to be applied via a selection circuit 13 during a selection period. The output terminal of the inverter 11a is connected directly to the anode of the organic light emitting diode 12 and the n2 of the TFT(thin film transistor) pi of the inverter 11a drives the diode 12. Thus, even when manufacturing variation or the like is generated, diodes 12 can be lighted with the same luminous level or turned off. |
