SOLUTION: The gondola attaching type external wall surface coating robot is constituted so that a pair of air cylinders 8 and 8 extending and contracting in the building wall surface direction are attached to the under part 7a of the gondola, the air cylinders are connected with a frame 20 parallel to the wall surface, the spray apparatus is attached movably along the frame 20 and a control device W11 is attached to the opposite side of the wall surface of the gondola 7 to suspend the gondola 7 to incline to the wall surface side by the inclination of the center of gravity due to the weight of the control device W11, and the coating is performed by hanging down the gondola 7 to a prescribed position, extending the air cylinder 8 to bring an elevating roller 22 into contact with the wall surface, further extending the air cylinder 8 to keep the gondola 7 away from the wall surface to incline a wire 5 to press to the wall surface to control the spray apparatus to keep a proper distance from the wall surface.
