PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex generator capable of generating a vortex most suitable for the state of stream in the case where separation restraint is required, and actively controlling so as not to generate the vortex in the case where no separation restraint is required. SOLUTION: The vortex generator of this invention which comprises a plurality of small holes on the wall surface crossing the flowing direction of fluid at right angles, thereby enabling the fluid to spout out from every small hole perpendicular to the wall surface, makes it possible to control the velocity distribution of the fluid spouted out of the small holes to be formed to the shear layer of a right triangle.
