PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight module for a flat display, which has a structure of eliminating or reducing bright edge lines or edges, increasing visible display area and improving display quality of a flat display. SOLUTION: The backlight module for a flat display is equipped with a light source, a light guide plate, and a reflecting plate which retains the light source, reflects light of the light source and guides it to the light guiding plate. One reflecting piece is arranged at a side of the light guide plate, and the light of the light source is reflected on the light guide plate, and at least either a light absorption unit or a light shielding unit is set around a periphery of at least one part facing the reflecting plate in the light guide plate, so that the intensity of light which is not yet totally reflected in the light guide plate is reduced. |
