<p>Collector for blood from slaughtered animals, especially pigs, comprises blade, tubular handle and quick-fit attachment for collecting bag. The blood collector consists of a tubular handle (330) of stainless steel with a blade (310) fixed to it, and a quick-fit attachment with a locking member (360) and a sliding ring (350) for a collecting bag (380). The ring has a truncated conical inner wall (351), and the locking member, made in one piece with the handle, is cylindrical in shape and engages with the ring to seal the bag between their surfaces. The bag is of a sterile food-grade plastic with an inner coating of a calcium complexing agent, is of sufficient capacity to collect the animal's blood, and has individual identification markings e.g. in bar code or transponder form.</p> |
