METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TRANSMISSION BELT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a transmission belt by which butting on bias end faces on both ends of a sheet body of an ethylene-alpha- olefin elastomer composition containing short fibers as a compressed rubber layer is made well and this butting part is prevented from being cracked. SOLUTION: After a cover canvas 3 is wound on the first face and a core wire 4 is wound thereon, a laminated body prepared by laminating in advance a sheet-like adhesive rubber layer 5 of the ethylene-alpha-olefin elastomer composition and a sheet-like compressed rubber layer 6 of the ethylene-alpha-olefin elastomer composition containing the short fibers is butted on the bias end faces 9 of its both ends and these parts 10 are bonded by contact bonding while these parts 10 are locally heated at 50-90 deg.C to form a belt molded body 7 and this is vulcanized and a transmission belt is finished from the belt sleeve obtained.
