摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a liquid crystal display device which is provided with a precharge means. SOLUTION: The signal line driving circuit is used for an active matrix type liquid crystal display device, supplies an intermediate potential Vp as a precharge voltage and gradation voltages corresponding to image data to a plurality of signal lines and has a latch 11 and a comparator circuit 12, through which image data prior to one horizontal interval and the image data to be displayed next are compared for every signal line, and a switch control circuit 13 which supplies the intermediate potential Vp in accordance with the result of the comparison in the circuit 12. The current loss normally associated with precharge is reduced because no precharge is conducted when a high speed and stable writing is made possible even though no precharge is conducted.
