Compact sensor for workpiece measurement - has evaluation circuit with orthogonality and gain correction for calibration during manufacture

A plane displacement and force vector sensing device consists of a sensor with a sensing ball (12) and a sensing pin (14) clamped at one end. The pin carries a strain gauge arrangment for each orthogonal coordinate direction. An evaluation circuit orthogonality correction arrangement consists of a summer in each channel receiving its own channel signal and part of the signal from the other channel. A gain correction arrangement has control elements for gain adjustment in one or both channels. USE/ADVANTAGE - Compact sensor e.g. for measuring workpieces, can be fully calibrated during manufacture.
