PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk swing arm where an inexpensive arm metallic piece having excellent strength with high precision is integrally formed into one body and to provide its producing method. SOLUTION: The swing arm 11 is integrally formed into one body with the arm metallic piece 12 which is constituted by providing a gimbal fixing arm part 16 at the tip 14 of a base piece part 13 and hanging a cylindrical part 23 where a bearing metal hole 25 turned in an axial direction is opened at the base end 15 of the base piece part 13 in one body. The arm metallic piece 12 is formed into single piece by a cold forging press.
