PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial hair satisfying various required qualities for an artificial hair, and at the same time excellent in setting property and hair styling ability. SOLUTION: The artificial hair comprises a fiber of acrylic polymer consisting of 35-75 wt.% of acrylonitrile, 25-65 wt.% of a halogen-containing vinyl monomer and 0-10 wt.% of a vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the these monomers. The artificial hair comprising the fiber having the circularity of the cross section of >=0.8 in average and the average fineness of monofilaments of 30-100 dtex has excellent setting property and high hair styling ability, and this makes a merchandize plan rich in variety.
