PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch which is provided with both functions of a push switch and a slide switch in a simple constitution and is downsized and a portable electronic equipment utilizing it. SOLUTION: In the device, a slider 2 provided with a moving contact 6, a spring 7 which generates a resisting force when the slider 2 is pushed in one direction from a neutral point and at least a pair of first and second individual fixed contacts 3 and 4 each provided on both sides of the neutral point and to which the moving contact 6 is brought into contact are provided, the moving contact 6 and the first individual fixed contact 3 are connected when pushed in one direction, the slider 2 returns to the neutral point when the slider 2 is released, the moving contact 6 and the second individual fixed contact 4 are connected when pushed in the other direction and opened when returned to the neutral point.
