REGENERATOR FOR GLASS MAKING FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerator for glass making which is capable of efficiently decreases the dust splashed in waste gas from a glass making furnace. SOLUTION: The rows of deposited refractory members constitute a central zone including at least two adjacent rows in which flow passages have a projected surface area smaller by at least 20% than the surface area of the flow passages of a third zone and the shaft among these consists of a first zone which exists at the inlet of hot gas toward the flow direction of the hot gas and rapidly cools the hot gas, a second zone, i.e., a central zone, for condensing and capturing chemical species liable to generate dust and the third zone which exists at the outlet of the cooled gas and discharges the condensate.
