PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch structure for a portable terminal device capable of preventing the erroneous operation or malfunction of a switch operated by pressing of a switch key top installed to the front wall of the body case of a portable terminal device and realizing the increase in the housing space in the body case and the improvement in freedom for the outer hull design of the body case. SOLUTION: A dome-like key installation area 81 is swollen and formed on the front wall 44a of the body case 43 of the portable terminal device 41, and a main switch key top 51 is arranged on the top part of the key installation area 81. A plurality of sub-switch key tops 52-57 to be installed around the main switch key top 51 is arranged on the skirt part of the key installation area 81 circumferentially about the installation position of the main switch key top 51. The protruding length from the surface of the key installation area 81 in non-operation time of the main switch key top 51 is set smaller than the pressing quantity necessary for the operation of an assigned switch circuit.
