PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector which has a simple structure, can surely discriminate a rise in carbon dioxide concentration caused by the expiration of a person to be rescued with high accuracy without being affected by the carbon dioxide concentration in, for example, the atmosphere, and, in addition, can suppress the influence of a temperature drift or a drift which changes with time. SOLUTION: This gas detector is composed of a gas sensor 13 and a detecting means 40 electrically connected to the sensor 13. The detecting means 40 is composed of (1) a high-pass filter 42 which removes low-frequency components from the output of the sensor 13, (2) an analyzing means 43 which analyzes an AC component outputted from the filter 42, and (3) a displaying means 44 which displays the analyzed results of the analyzing means 43. The analyzing means 43 outputs the analyzed results to the displaying means 44 when two or more peaks appear in the AC component within a fixed period of time. |
