PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image pickup apparatus allowing an operator to adjust the volume of guiding voice on the site without going to an operation console. SOLUTION: The medical image pickup apparatus comprises a gantry device for executing the scanning and the operation console for outputting control data on the scanning to the gantry device and executing the image restructuring process based on a signal from the gantry device. The gantry device comprises a speaker for providing guiding voice to the subject, an instruction means for giving the instruction to output the guiding voice from the speaker, and a sound volume adjusting means for adjusting the volume of the voice outputted from the speaker.
