PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the arrangement of an embroidery pattern, which an operator desires, in preparing repeated embroidery data for repeating an embroidery pattern and simply finish the operation at that time. SOLUTION: Embroidery data which an operator selects are read from an external storage (S1) and the embroidery pattern is displayed on a display device (S2). When a menu for preparing repeated embroidery data for repeating a unit of an embroidery pattern is selected (S3), four items of the arrangement number of an embroidery pattern, the distance between embroidery patterns, a sewing room operation area and an arrangement method may be set and changed (S4, 5). At this time, the way of arrangement for a plurality of embroidery patterns in line (horizontal) and row (vertical) directions may be specified (S9), and at that time, for a horizontal direction, one of 'left justification', 'right justification', 'center justification' and 'equal space' is selected and also for a vertical direction, one of 'above justification', 'under justification', 'center justification' and 'equal space' is selected. An editing device body determines the arrangement of a plurality of embroidery patterns based on their setting (S11) to prepare repeated embroidery data.
