PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording paper, which is excellent in ink absorbency, the weatherability of a printed image and cockling resistance, with which an image having high density and high picture quality are obtained and during the conveying of which no crack develops. SOLUTION: In this ink jet recording paper, an ink accepting layer has fine particles B having an average particle diameter of 100 nm or less, a dry film thickness of 10 to 50 μm and the liquid transition amounts defining as Q1 and Q2 at contact times of 0.8 s and 2.0 s measured with the Bristow method by employing a mixed solvent of diethylene glycol/triethyl monobutyl ether/water of 15/15/70 by mass satisfying the following inequalities: Q2<=40 ml/m2 and Q1/Q2>=0.8 and an intermediate layer consists of materials selected from view points on (1) ink absorbency, (2) weatherability, (3) cockling resistance and (4) high density and high picture quality. |
