PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell having high catalytic activity of a fuel electrode, with no occurrence of poisoning by carbon even if subjected to internal reformation under conditions of a small S/C ratio, and small deterioration with the passage of time of the fuel electrode in internal reformation. SOLUTION: This solid electrolyte fuel cell 10 has an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte 12; and the fuel electrode 14 and an air electrode 16 jointed with each side of the oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte 12, and cermet with a catalyst and a second solid electrolyte whose oxygen ion conductivity at 1,000 deg.C is 0.2 S/cm or larger is used as the fuel electrode. More specifically, Scandia-stabilized zirconia(ScSZ) containing 9-12 mol% of scandia is preferable as a second solid electrolyte. Or the second slid electrolyte may be a ScSZ, containing 2 mol% or smaller yttria or ceria. Also the second solid electrolyte may be a composite of the ScSZ and 2% or smaller of alumina. |
