PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon material for a lithium ion secondary battery negative electrode, used as a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery for permitting a decrease in irreversible capacity while maintaining a high discharge capacity, greatly improving initial charge/discharge efficiency without the delay of a charging speed, and further improving a cycle characteristic, and to provide a lithium ion secondary battery. SOLUTION: The carbon material for the lithium ion secondary battery negative electrode contains 2-50 mass% graphitized particles of mesophase small spheres and 98-50 mass% crystalline graphitic particles having high crystalline property than the graphitized particles, wherein an amine based compound is deposited on the crystalline graphitic particles. The lithium ion secondary battery has the negative electrode formed of the carbon material. |
