PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spin valve structure which can enhance a head characteristic sufficiently by providing an optimum longitudinal bias lead regarding a head for a magnetic disk system equipped with a reproducing head using a magnetoresistance effect, to provide its formation method and its manufacturing method and to provide the reproducing head to which the spin valve structure is applied. SOLUTION: A bottom SF-SyAFSV(spin filter synthetic antiferromagnetic spin valve) structure is constituted in such a way that a seed layer 22, a pinning layer 33, a synthetic antiferromagnetic pinned layer 34, a spacer layer 25, an extremely thin free layer 35 which is composed of NiFe and CoFe thinner than the NiFe, a highly conductive layer 36, a mirror reflection layer 37 and a protective layer 38 are stacked in this order on a substrate 21. The sensor sensitivity and the output signal strength of the reproducing head to which the bottom SF-SyAFSV structure is applied can be ensured sufficiently. |
