PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfume composition which excels in a liking to be reminded of the sea and a method for utilizing the composition. SOLUTION: The perfume composition comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of 3-octanone, 5-propyl-5-hydroxy-3,4-dimethyl-2(5H)- furanone, methanes containing two or more bromine atoms, and the compounds to be represented by the general formula (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and R2, R3, and R4 are each independently hydrogen or bromine).
