The invention concerns a method for embedding in a road pavement claddings designed to house optical fibre cables, characterised in that it consists in: a) levelling at least part of the running surface (7) of the road and optionally part of the base layer (8) of said road, to produce a continuous slot (4); b) laying flat the claddings (5) at the base (6) of said groove (4), at least some of the claddings being non-contiguous to create a space (e) between the claddings (5); refilling at least partly the groove (4) with concrete (14) to cover the claddings (5); d) providing above said concrete (14) a running surface layer (11, 12).
