PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, inexpensive image forming unit by suppressing a drive transmission path to the minimum, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the image forming unit. SOLUTION: In the image forming unit which is attachable/detachable to/from the image forming apparatus main body, the unit is provided with a photoreceptor drum 1 for forming a toner image, an intermediate transfer belt 5a to which the toner image formed on the photoreceptor drum 1 is transferred, and a waste toner box 16 for storing the toner remaining on the photoreceptor drum 1 and the intermediate transfer belt 5a, and the path of an intermediate transfer body drive transmitting means for transmitting a driving force to the intermediate transfer belt 5a is constituted separately from the path of an image carrier drive transmitting means for transmitting a driving force to the photoreceptor drum 1, and the transmission of the driving force to a screw 28 for carrying the toner into the waste toner box 16 and the transmission of the driving force to a waste toner stirring plate 35 for stirring the toner in the waste toner box 16 are performed by the intermediate transfer body drive transmitting means. |
