PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for coating materials which generates no turbidity and is stable even after long-term preservation, while maintaining good resistance to stains, and gives a cured film with good transparency. SOLUTION: There are provided a resin composition for coating materials comprising an organic coating resin (A), a silicon compound and/or a partial hydrolyzate condensate thereof (B), whose pH measured is less than 6 or is adjusted to less than 6, and an organic solvent (C), and a coated article applied with the resin composition.
