PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for amplifying digital power using a sigma-delta method is provided to amplify power digitally by using a sigma-delta method. CONSTITUTION: A pulse width modulation signal generation portion(40) is used for generating a pulse width modulation signal from an audio input signal and a feedback signal by using a sigma-delta modulation method. A current amplification portion(42) is used for receiving the pulse width modulation signal from the pulse width modulation signal generation portion(40) and performing a current amplification operation of the received pulse width modulation signal. A high power switching portion(44) is used for performing a complementary switching operation according to the current-amplified result and outputs the switched result as the feedback signal. A low pass filter(46) is used for filtering the feedback signal and outputting the filtered result as an audio output signal.
