The procedure for obtaining glycosylate products involves the biosynthesis of desoxy-sugars 1-olivosa, 1-oleandrosa and l-ramosa, the plasmids being so constructed that they can direct the biosynthesis. Also a strain of streptomyces albus is constructed which contains in its chromosome the gene of resistance to erythromycin and a gene (oleG11) which codifies a glycosyl transferase which enables it to glycosylate macrocyclic lactone rings.
