PURPOSE: To provide a recorder which can record information so as to reproduce the recorded information even with use of a reproduction-only DVD player where the information is recorded regardless of the real time when the information is recorded on a DVD-R according to the real time. CONSTITUTION: When the information and the reproduction control information needed for controlling the reproduction mode of the recorded information are recorded on a DVD-R1R in accordance with a reproduction-only DVD video standard, a reservation control information area, i.e., an area secured on the DVD-R1R equivalent to the area that is prescribed in a recording format to record the reproduction control information is reserved and secured before the reproduction control information is recorded on the DVD-R1R. Then the reproduction control information is recorded in the secured reservation control information area.
