PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-fuel ratio controller for an internal combustion engine capable of improving controllability of air-fuel ratio and maintaining stable control. SOLUTION: This air-fuel ratio controller is provided with a means for detecting unevenness in air-fuel ratio among each cylinder by extracting a cycle component which is cyclic fluctuation of an exhaust air component sensor. All cylinders are divided into two groups of cylinders. The first group of cylinders is provided with a means for performing only air-fuel ratio control for all cylinders without performing air-fuel ratio control based on detected unevenness in air-fuel ratio among cylinders and the second group of cylinders is provided with a means for performing air-fuel ratio control for all cylinders and controlling air-fuel ratio of corresponding cylinders based on detected unevenness in air-fuel ratio among cylinders.
