PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for melt spinning capable of carrying out a spinning in a stable operability without causing end breakages even for a polymer liable to be thermally decomposed. SOLUTION: This method for melt spinning is characterized in that, in subjecting a polymer (A) liable to be thermally decomposed having <=80% retention of number-average molecular weight before heat treatment to that after heat treatment and <=70% retention of weight-average molecular weight before the heat treatment to that after the heat treatment in GPC measurement after the heat treatment at 285 deg.C×30 minutes to melt spinning, a polymer (B) to be less thermally decomposed than the polymer (A) is packed to the melt spinning system and spun, then the polymer (B) packed into the melt spinning system is replaced with the polymer (A) and the polymer is continuously spun as it is.
