PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate directivity of light at an element level by improving the luminance of an LED and improving the output efficiency of a light in a necessary direction. SOLUTION: An N-type semiconductor 2 and a P-type semiconductor 3 are laminated on a substrate 1 made of a compound semiconductor to form a P-N junction 4. A side face of the substrate 1 becomes an oblique surface 1a spreading to a light output direction (light emitting direction), a light reflector 5 made of a light reflecting material closely contact the outside of the oblique surface 1a to be in a rectangular parallelepiped shape as a whole, and a bonding pad 6 is formed on the semiconductor 3. |
