PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink jet excellent in dispersion stability and long-term storage stability, not suffering from clogging of a filter or a nozzle during continuous jetting and exhibiting excellent color-developing and dyeing properties. SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises a particle dispersed in a medium, where the particle is obtained by bonding, to a block polymer for improving dispersibility comprising a block B or blocks B and C, a polymer block A having dissolved/dispersed a dye therein, obtained by dissolving or dispersing a dye in a monomer bearing an ethylenically unsaturated double bond of general formula (1) in which the dye is soluble or dispersible and subsequently polymerizing the monomer. In formula (1), R1 is hydrogen or a 1-3C alkyl group; R2 is a phenyl group, -COOR3,-CONHR4, -CH2CH2OH, -CH2CH2OCH3 or a pyrrolidone residue; R3 is hydrogen or a 1-5C alkyl group; and R4 is a 1-6C linear/branched alkyl group. |
